The OMB Compliance Unit is dedicated to promoting integrity and accountability in the management of federal and local funds. Our mission is to ensure that all programs and agencies adhere to applicable laws, regulations, and standards, safeguarding public trust and supporting effective governance.
The Compliance Unit operates under the authority of the Virgin Islands Government and in alignment with federal regulations, including the Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200). This authority empowers us to monitor, audit, and enforce compliance requirements for grants, contracts, and financial reporting across all government entities.
Compliance means following the rules, policies, and regulations that guide how we operate. It protects our community, strengthens trust, and ensures we use public resources responsibly.
A new fiscal year provides an opportunity to review your processes, strengthen internal controls, and ensure your organization is prepared to meet compliance requirements.
Remember: Strong preparation at the beginning of the fiscal year helps establish accountability, transparency, and effective stewardship of public resources throughout the year.
