for the Virgin Islands.

Arthur Williams Jr.

Arthur Williams Jr. was born and raised on St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, where he attended parochial, public, and private schools before graduating as Salutatorian from Antilles School. He later earned a Bachelor of Science in Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), combining his passion for critical thinking with a strong analytical foundation. As OMB's Financial Data Analyst, Arthur is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting financial data to produce meaningful reports that support informed decision-making. His work provides valuable insights that help agencies address challenges and make data-driven decisions that benefit the Government of the Virgin Islands and the community it serves. Arthur's passion for problem-solving began long before his professional career. An avid chess player growing up, he developed a love for strategy, logic, and analytical thinking. During college, he completed internships with the Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority (WAPA) and International Capital & Management Company (ICMC), where he strengthened his data analysis and organizational skills. After graduating from MIT, he joined VIYA as a Financial Analyst, gaining valuable experience in financial modeling and presenting complex data in a clear and meaningful way. He later brought those skills to OMB, where he continues to use data to help improve government operations and serve the people of the Virgin Islands. What Arthur enjoys most about working at OMB is the opportunity to solve problems, analyze data, and uncover the stories behind the numbers. He also appreciates the welcoming and supportive environment, noting that his colleagues have made it possible for him to learn, grow, and develop throughout his journey. One quote that continues to inspire him is from Winston Churchill: "Success is not final; failure is not fatal; it is the courage to continue that counts." Looking ahead, Arthur hopes to continue expanding his knowledge and skills while gaining a deeper understanding of government operations. His goal is to continue making meaningful contributions that positively impact both the organization and the community. Among his proudest accomplishments is earning his degree from MIT, a milestone that reflects years of hard work and determination. Professionally, he is especially proud of his contributions to the recent Retro Payment Project, where collaboration across multiple teams helped provide relief to many individuals throughout the Virgin Islands. The experience reinforced the value of teamwork and public service. Arthur is motivated by knowing that the work completed today will make processes more efficient for future employees while improving services for the community. For him, creating lasting improvements is one of the most rewarding aspects of his career. Outside of work, Arthur is a talented musician who plays both the piano and the saxophone and also enjoys writing music. He is an enthusiastic NBA fan who closely follows players and storylines, with the San Antonio Spurs and Los Angeles Lakers among his favorite teams. If given the opportunity to travel anywhere in the world, Arthur would choose Japan. Drawn by its rich culture, cuisine, history, and attractions, he is particularly fascinated by anime and manga. His favorite series, One Piece, tells the story of a group of determined pirates who pursue their dreams while helping others along the way, a message that resonates with him. For those beginning their careers, Arthur offers simple but meaningful advice: never give up, dream big, always look for opportunities to help others, and trust God in all things.
